Trending Nails 2012

It was last year when nails started cracking! The Crackle otherwise known as Shatter nail polish made a big hit to the lacquer world in 2011. It has a cool shatter effect as it dries up which made everyone so crazy about.

For this year, more styles are emerging and it gets crazier but tremendously awesome. A few of the trendy nail arts I know are the Brights and neon colors, Highlight finger which is one nail painted with a different color, Geometric designs with contrasting shades, Blingy nails filled with rhinestones and glitters, the Ombre look, Gel or Shellac nails, Ciate Caviar Nails, and the most recent one is the Magnetic Design

Bright and Neon Colors

This has been a hit from last year too but more bright and fun colors are out this spring and summer season which is really great for pop of color.

Highlight your finger

This is something I’d go for whenever I'm in a hurry. Just keep one nail different from the rest and you can have a simple yet cool style.

 Geometrical Accents

If there’s color blocking for clothes, then there’s geometric style for nails. It could be a crisscross or just overlapping shapes with contrasting shades.

All that Bling

I guess rhinestones and glitters will forever be in trend because of its ornate and versatility. Perfect for all year round. There are so many things you can do with them and you can keep it from subtle to bold designs.

The Ciaté Caviar Manicure

Another ultramodern nail art creation that came all the way from London. It uses pearlescent beads creating a cool 3D effect. If you want something unique but fun nail art, you might want to try this caviar nail beads for the price of $25, which is awfully expensive for me. But there are also other cheaper alternatives that you can try which can be bought off ebay for only $3 - $5 (right photo).

Gel and Shellac Nails

Gel manicures are supposed to make your nails stronger and chip-free by meticulously adding layer by layer of gel. It takes time though because each layer needs to go under UV dryer but you will be happy about the result and it tends to last for 2 weeks. Shellac on the other hand is just a step-up of Gel manicures. After all the treating and curing under the UV dryer, your nails are supposed to stay nice and will not chip up to 14 days.

Wave Magnetic Polish

A revolutionary nail polish that uses magnets to create a striking 3D effect nail art. It was formulated with metallic particles in it hence gravitates toward the magnet on the cap of the bottle once held over the painted nails. This costs $16 and only comes in 2 patterns.
